Frustrated, Reese Demands Action on State Budget
Rep. Mike Reese (R-Fayette/Westmoreland) today issued the following statement regarding the current inaction on the 2009-2010 fiscal year state budget.
“It is purely despicable that there has been no action taken by the full House on the state budget. Due to the actions of Democrat leadership, there has been no open debate held on the floor of the House. It shows a blatant disregard for the taxpayers of Pennsylvania who deserve to hear their Representatives state their views and see them vote for the most important issue that the Legislature as a whole faces.”
“The lack of action demonstrates a fear of the public on the part of the Democrat leadership. In the Republican Caucus, we are ready, willing and able to go to work on the House floor debating a budget. In this economic climate, where working Pennsylvanians are faced with a myriad of financial challenges, to play a child’s game of ‘hide-and-seek’ with the state budget is foolish and insulting. It is time for the Democrat leadership to face responsibility and allow a budget bill to be debated on the House floor. Anything less is unacceptable, period.”
