Krieger and Reese to Host Small Business Forum
Reps. Tim Krieger (R-Westmoreland) and Mike Reese (R-Westmoreland/Fayette) will host a Small Business Forum from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday, April 9 at the Fred Rogers Center of St. Vincent College in Latrobe.
“This small business forum will be a great venue for local businesses to come together and discuss issues important in their everyday lives,” said Krieger. “These folks are the backbone of communities across the Commonwealth and I look forward to meeting with them and discussing ways to make Pennsylvania more business friendly.”
Reese says there is no more important priority than helping small businesses prosper in Pennsylvania.
“When we talk about job creation in Pennsylvania, small businesses are the main driving force and employ the most people,” said Reese. “Rep. Krieger and I are pleased to host this forum and look forward to hearing from some of our Commonwealth’s finest experts. We must do all that we can to reshape the business climate in Pennsylvania, and see to it that our small businesses are not buried in overregulation and stifling taxes.”
The featured speaker will be Kevin Shivers, Pennsylvania state director for the National Federation of Independent Businesses. He will be joined by Donna Flickinger, Department of Insurance program director; Jenny Piccola Stratton, Executive Director of the House Finance Committee; and Jim Kunkle, executive director of the St. Vincent College Small Business Development Center. The welcoming remarks will be delivered by David Adams, executive director for the Kennametal Center for Operational Excellence at the college.
Sponsors for the event include the chambers of commerce from Fayette, Westmoreland, Mountain Laurel, Ligonier Valley and Latrobe Area.
